Damon Anderson has been involved in sports throughout his childhood and early school days. He graduated from Central High School and Philander Smith College. Coach Anderson started his coaching career several years ago when he assisted with teams such as the North Little Rock Rockers and the Arkansas Sirens. He later became an assistant coach in 2002 with a Central Arkansas team known as the Arkansas Storm. He gained a great deal of experience from basketball practices, fundraising events and the competition he witnessed and helped create in AAU and BCI tournaments. As a member of past coaching staffs, Coach Anderson was mostly responsible for the conditioning of the teams and working with the post players. Coach Anderson's sister was a star player on the Arkansas Storm team. Following the dispersion of this team, Coach Anderson's sister became an integral part of Coach Pittman's 11 and Under Mavericks team in 2003. Coach Anderson was a loyal supporter of this team and often gave great advice to the players on this Mavericks team. Coach Anderson's personal statement is, "I have truly been blessed to be able to assist youth in learning life's lessons through sports. To help kids that desire to learn is more satisfying to me than any monetary reward." Coach Anderson was recruited in late 2003 by Coach Pittman to assist him with certain aspects of his coaching responsibilities for the Arkansas Lady Sparks "1991 Team". He helped Coach Pittman and the other coaches in putting together a very strong and talented team that will make a statement when it makes its debut in 2004.
