WJBBC CREED & CONTRACT
WJBBC really believes in Vince Lombardi's philosophy that any player
can be great and it's the discipline, hard work, persistence, and
dedication that determines your success or failure in the game of
basketball.
The WJBBC coaches will always have the highest beliefs and creeds,
and in return we will ask from our athletes that they keep similar
standards throughout their basketball careers.
Please review the following creed and contract and understand what we
expect out of each coach, player, and parent.
-
Coaches:
-
Will always act in a professional manner.
-
Will be dedicated, disciplined and positive toward the players.
-
Will
be very knowledgeable on the training that they are teaching.
-
Will
be patient and make explanation in the finest details and always stop
when a player or group does not understand a concept.
-
Will be on time or call ahead to change the time of a session.
(especially when traveling a long way; traffic can be a problem at
times)
-
Players:
-
Will always take the game of basketball seriously when they are
training with the WJBBC.
-
Will always pay close attention and will not talk or bounce the ball
when the coach is talking. Respect authority!
-
Will always have a desire to want to learn, understanding failure, and
not giving up - wanting to learn new ideas and techniques.
-
Always giving 100% all the time. This is the only way you're going to
improve. Giving 80% or 90% never improves a player.
-
Understanding the importance of continual training and to never be
satisfied with their skill level.
-
Need
to work on their skills at home on a daily basis. Players are in the
gym 20% of the time and away from the gym 80%. True passion starts at
home!
-
Parents:
-
Need to be aware of their child's passion for the game of basketball.
Your child might not be the next Kobe Bryant or Cheryl Swoopes, but
they can be what ever they choose. If the child doesn't wish to be a
good player, this isn't the right camp for him or her. We want players
with great passion. Don't force your child to attend the WJBBC.
-
Should support their child's passion as they advance through
basketball training at the WJBBC. This includes driving your child to
the gym when permits and paying fees when they're due.
-
When in the gym during your child's session, please let the coaches
coach. If you don't understand a drill or technique, talk to the coach
after the session, never interrupt a session. This confusion is not
what the WJBBC stands for.
-
Need to monitor your child's progress at home. One of the biggest
problems with many players is that they are naive in what it takes to
be good and often have no discipline to work out correctly. While we
don't believe a child should be forced into basketball, monitoring is
crucial. Talk to your child occasionally after each session for a
passion check.
Accidents:
WJBBC will not push a child
to extreme measures, only what they can handle. To avoid any major
injuries! Parents are required to have there own health insurance before
your child attends a WJBBC session. And understand that WJBBC is not
liable for injuries. WJBBC will do its utmost to protect and provide
safe techniques for each child while a session is being taught.
I have read the following contract, I understand this is a triangle
effect that all three parties must work together and if one party breaks
down, usually the entire learning and improving process usually also
stops. I understand what my duties and responsibilities are for this to
be a successful experience.
